Immerse Yourself in Another Culture
The Maasai and Samburu people are some of the few last remaining indigenous tribal communities in East. They are very unique and popular because they represent some of the last indigenous communities in parts of the world. They have managed to preserve and cling to their culture despite education, civilization and western influences making them a symbol of Kenyan culture. They are known as tall and fierce warriors .Their way of life has historically been to depend on their cattle for meat, milk, blood and skin. They believe that God created cattle especially for them and that they are the sole custodians of all the cattle on earth. This belief has over the years turned them into nomads as they moved from one place to another depending with the weather pattern in search of grass and water for their cattle.
They dress in very colourful garments called “shuka”with plenty of beaded jewelry. They are so photogenic. Your visit will enable you to interact with these people and get to experience their culture that is suspended in a history that dates back to the 15th century and experience the Africa of yesterday. This uniquely authentic experience should be on your bucket list as you will witness for yourself the traditionally semi-nomadic people with distinctive customs and dress as well as a reputation of being fearsome warriors
