Day 1

Entebbe City

Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport (EBB) in Uganda, you will clear immigration and customs before proceeding to the paging area outside the main terminal. There, our friendly Safari representative will warmly welcome you and assist with your transfer to a luxurious city hotel. Nestled gracefully on the shimmering shores of Lake Victoria, just 1 km from the airport, this four-star resort perfectly blends convenience and tranquility.

As you arrive at the hotel, you’ll be embraced by its refined elegance and inviting atmosphere. Day 2

Kibale National Park – Travel Day

After a hearty breakfast at your city hotel, you will be transferred to Entebbe International Airport for your morning or midday flight to Kasese Airstrip. Please note that departure times may vary depending on weather conditions, and you will receive updates accordingly.

Upon your arrival at Kasese, you’ll be warmly greeted by our guide, who will assist you with your transfer to your lodge for check-in, followed by a delicious lunch.

The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure. Alternatively, you may choose to engage in a variety of optional activities. One option is a community walk, where you can immerse yourself in the lifestyle of the local Karamojong people and gain insights into their rich culture.

Day 3

Queen Elizabeth National Park – Chimps Trekking Day

After breakfast at the lodge, you will be transferred or take a short walk to the ranger’s station for a pre-chimp trekking debriefing. Your trek will begin from the station, leading you through the forest as you search for the chimpanzees, who are often seen swinging from tree to tree. Depending on where the chimpanzees spent the night, the trek may take less than an hour or a few hours.

Once you locate a group of chimps, you’ll have one hour to observe their daily activities. Watch as they feed, play, and interact, providing a unique and fascinating glimpse into their social behavior. After this incredible experience, you’ll trek back to the starting point, where you’ll receive a graduation certificate to commemorate your chimpanzee adventure....

Day 4

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – Travel Day

As you explore, you’ll be captivated by the lush surroundings and the vibrant wildlife that thrives in this rich ecosystem....

Day 5

After an early morning breakfast at the lodge, you’ll either be transferred or take a scenic walk to the ranger’s station for an essential pre-gorilla trekking briefing. Depending on the assigned gorilla family, your trek may begin directly at the ranger’s headquarters or at a different starting point accessible by your safari vehicle.

As you embark on this exhilarating adventure, staying hydrated is key, so be sure to drink plenty of water. Wear comfortable boots suitable for the steep and often muddy slopes, and don’t forget a light rain jacket, as the weather in Bwindi National Park can be unpredictable. Walking sticks are available at the park headquarters or the lodge for those who might need extra support....

Day 6

Depart for Home

Breakfast will be served at the lodge, providing a final opportunity to savor the delightful flavors of Uganda. Enjoy a hearty meal as you reflect on your remarkable journey, surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of the landscape. After breakfast, you’ll check out and be transferred to Kihihi Airstrip for your morning scheduled flight to Entebbe International Airport.

Upon your arrival in Entebbe, you’ll have some leisure time to explore the airport shops for unique souvenirs or local crafts to remember your trip by. Alternatively, you can relax in the lounge, soaking in the memories of your incredible adventure in Uganda. Consider treating yourself to a final taste of local cuisine or a refreshing drink at one of the airport cafes, allowing the flavors of the region to linger a bit longer.

Trekking Rules

  • Keep Your Voice Low: Maintain a quiet environment to avoid disturbing the gorillas and other wildlife.
  • No Littering: Ensure that you do not leave any trash or litter in the forest.
  • Do Not Touch the Gorillas: For your safety and the well-being of the gorillas, maintain a respectful distance.
  • Age Requirement: Only individuals aged 15 years and above are permitted to participate in gorilla trekking.
  • No Flash Photography: Flash photography is prohibited to avoid startling the gorillas.
  • Viewing Time: You are allowed one hour to observe the gorillas once you have located them.
  • Group Size: Each gorilla group is trekked by a maximum of eight guests per day to minimize disturbance.
  • Stay Calm if Charged: If a gorilla charges, do not run or shout. Remain calm and follow the guidance of your guide.
  • Face Masks Required: Wearing a face mask is mandatory during the trek.
  • No Eating, Drinking, or Smoking: These activities are not allowed when in proximity to the gorillas.
  • Book in Advance: Gorilla permits are in high demand, so it is advisable to book your trek well in advance.
  • Toileting: Consult your trekking guide if you need to use the toilet; they will provide instructions and assistance.
  • Distance from Gorillas: Maintain a distance of approximately 32 feet from the gorillas. They may occasionally come closer, but always respect their space.

What to Bring

    1. Face Mask: For health and safety, especially in any crowded or enclosed areas.
    2. Long Trousers: To protect against insects and vegetation during the trek.
    3. Long-Sleeved Shirts: To shield your arms from the elements and insects.
    4. Socks: Long socks that can be tucked into trousers to prevent insects from crawling up.
    5. Comfortable Hiking Boots: Sturdy and supportive boots suitable for navigating uneven and muddy terrain.
    6. Backpack: To carry your personal items, including essentials for the trek.
    7. Camera: Ensure it has enough memory and is fully charged to capture memorable moments.
    8. Money: For tipping porters and guides, as well as any incidental expenses.
    9. Walking Stick: A useful aid for trekking, available for hire at the starting point or provided by the lodge.
    10. Energy Snacks and Water: Bring along snacks and water; a packed lunch will be provided by the lodge.
    11. Rain Gear: Waterproof jacket or poncho to handle rain; a safari hat for sun protection; and garden gloves to protect your hands. Gaiters can also be useful for keeping mud and debris out of your boots.
    12. Porter: Consider hiring a porter to assist with carrying your belongings. Porters are available at the trekking starting point.
